Hello, I’m Velvet! I’m a sweet and affectionate girl who can’t wait to be your canine companion! Being on the young side — about 1 year old — I enjoy getting out and about for fresh air and exercise! Let’s explore the neighborhood or, even better, have rollicking adventures in the park! Back home, I’m partial to tummy rubs and snuggles, and will delight in sharing my love with you for years to come! Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

Mila is a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois-Border Collie mix who is reserved when you first meet, but she’s ready to blossom. Some things (like jumping into the car) are new and scary.
But if you crouch down and offer reassurance, patience and a handful of snacks, she can be very brave! Then she will ready for adventure, as you can see from her field trip photo! She’s a “leaner” and will press her whole body against you for pets. Meet her at East Bay SPCA’s Dublin Adoption Center, with walk-in adoptions also offered at our Oakland campus from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For updated and real-time information on EBSPCA programs and offerings, visit eastbayspca.org/adoptions.— EBSPCA
Nala came all the way here from Maui in an emergency airlift after the fires, and despite the fact that she’s an amazing, sweet, extremely good dog, she is still with us. Outside her kennel she is a happy, calm, engaging, affectionate, GREAT girl, but in her kennel she is — for lack of a better word — depressed. Nala is 8 years old and has had a rough last couple of years. She is beyond ready for her fairy-tale ending. Sheamus is the perfect blend of kitten energy and snuggle-bug calm. Every new toy you give him turns in to a new adventure. He’s been around one dog and he seemed quite good with her. He loves being carried around almost as much as playing with his foster siblings. This boy is pure joy. For more information about this or any other adoptable pets with the Contra Costa SPCA, call Pat at 925-323-0667.
